Waist Cinchers

If you love 1940s and 1950s styles then a Waist Cincher or Waspie is an essential part of your wardrobe. Made from corsetry powermesh, with spiral steel boning and internal elastic waist tapes our cinchers will give you a visibly reduced waist. Due to the stretch they're comfortable enough for you to wear all day. Perfect for wearing under nipped in 1940s and 1950s outfits.

We've also added our Corsets to our Waist Cincher collection page as the lines are blurred between the two garments. A Cincher is made from stretch fabric, while Corsets are non stretch.

The Difference between Waist Cinchers and Corsets

A waist cincher is the easiest way to (temporarily) coax your torso into 1950s pin up girl curves. What's the difference between a Waspie, Waist Cincher, Demi Corset and Traditional Corset? Watch this video to see them all put side by side.

All of our shapewear, from Waist Cinchers to Corsets contain spiral steel boning. The only plastic boning we use is in the side boning of our bras.

Waist Cincher Sizing

Our Waspies, Waist Cinchers and Demi Corsets are sized by dress size, unlike traditional corsets which are sized by waist size. This is because they are made from stretch powermesh and depending on how tightly you wear yours, the measurement varies!

Our Cinchers are cut smaller than the measurements they're designed to fit, so you just need to order your What Katie Did dress size which may differ from your usual dress size as modern garments are cut a little bigger on the waist, and smaller on the hip.

When you take your measurements be sure to measure your waist firmly, like you would wear a close fitting belt. If the Cincher is too loose then it won't be able to shape your figure as intended.
