In the 1950s and 1960s, mesh-knit stockings were a wardrobe essential for women who needed their hosiery to last the working week. The distinctive open texture made them stronger and more resistant to snags than traditional sheers, without sacrificing elegance.
Our version, made in Italy from soft yet resilient yarn, recreates that look and feel perfectly. Though officially 70 denier, the light, breathable mesh gives the appearance of roughly 40 denier — earning these stockings their semi opaque name. The result is a flattering semi-sheer finish that looks beautifully natural against very light skintones.
Featuring a reinforced heel and toe for a true 1960s finish, these Vanilla mesh stockings offer both vintage charm and modern comfort. Knitted from 78% polyamide and 16% elastane, they stretch softly to fit while maintaining the textured look that makes mesh hosiery so distinctive.
