They say perfection takes time but who would have thought that something so simple would take so long? If you're friends with me you'll know that not only do I wear a corset every day, but I also walk four miles to work. I was after a corset that didn't restrict movement or lung capacity, yet still offered lots of shaping and support to the torso.
The solution was inspired by Victorian riding corsets. These corsets were cut lower at the side of the rib, and higher over the hip, to allow for a greater range of movement while out and about. Based on this principle I redesigned a favourite style, shaving inches off here and there to give the rib and hip more room, whilst upping the number of panels to eighteen to create a more flexible (yet supportive) shape that allows much more movement for the wearer.
Although we use the same busk and flat bone (next to busk) as with our other corsets, due to the cut of this corset the busk does feel very stiff in comparison for the first few wears (especially on the Extreme version) until one has adjusted to the different style.
The Extreme version of our Riding Corset has the same cut, but with an additional 2" (5cm) taken from the waist. So, for example, a size 20" (51cm) Extreme Riding Corset will be cut to a 22"(56cm) Riding Corset pattern, but with an extra 2" (5cm) taken from the waist (the rib remains conical). The Extreme Riding Corset is an excellent choice for the very curvaceous among us, or those who feel they have outgrown the cinch of a standard Riding Corset.
Satin colours can be ordered using the drop down menu on this page. Other fabrics to special order from our 'Design Your Own Corset' page.
These corsets are designed to work hard and reduce your waist by up to 4 inches (10cm). Please deduct 3 to 4 inches (8-10cm) from your normal waist measurement to work out your corset size: for instance, both a natural waist of 29 inches (74cm) and a natural waist size of 30 inches (76cm) should give a corset size of 26 inches (66cm).
The Riding Corset is most suited to vintage figures with a waist measurements of 10 inches (25cm) (or more) smaller than the hip measurement.
* length along front busk 10.25" (26cm)
* underbust to hip (side) 6.5" (16.5cm)
* side length from underarm to waist 3.5" (9cm)
* side length from waist to bottom 2.75" (7cm)

The ribcage measurement on a Riding Corset is taken 2.75" (7cm) up from the waist.
A Note On Hip Measurements: Due to the cut of the hips on this corset it is difficult to determine the fit. I was hoping that the hips would be 'free' and therefore fit all, however you do need a suitable hip-to-waist differentiation to fill the corset, so a waist to hip difference of at least 8" (20cm) is required, and 10" (25cm) preferred. Bigger hips are not a problem as the corset finishes high at the sides and you body continues the curve, which results in an amazingly smooth line.
This is the most comfortable corset I've ever worn. You have a lot of mobility and can even sleep in it if you are waist training. It does fit similar to the Baby corset but this one cinches your belly better and has more back support. Beautiful corset! TobeyAnne
