One of our bestselling shapewear pieces, the Glamour Nouveau Corselette, is an absolute wardrobe staple. As the warmer months creep in, we're increasingly choosing this versatile and comfortable body briefer to wear under our outfits!
Traditionally corselettes and body briefers were designed from strechy smoothing fabric as a roll-on garment, which makes for a smooth finish but doesn't do much for the waist! When we redesigned our corselette we added a cinching waist tape to ensure a winched in waist.
We've included satin stomach panels in this piece to give you a little additional tummy support. Particularly useful under fragile or nipped in pieces, these panels make sure any squidge is tamed under close fitting styles.
Here, Miss Deadly Red wears the black version of this corselette. With the addition of the waist tape, we've also added a row of hooks down the front so wiggling into and out of this piece is a dream! Six suspender straps are attached to keep your stockings well held. Stockings will also prevent your corselette rolling back up while you're out and about.
Here at the back you can also see that we've adapted the vintage-style low back of the corselette to make it slightly higher for better bust support.
We often get asked about sizing for Corselettes. For shapewear that also covers your body, you need to take your bra size into account, and bear in mind that bra back sizes do roughly equate to dress sizes:
32 = UK 8 &10 34 = UK 12
36 = UK 14
38 = UK 16 & 18
If your back size doesn't correspond to the dress size on this chart, sister size your bra to match. For instance, if you wear a 34C, but a dress size UK 14, you'll be better off in a 36B corselette.
