Stocking Storage on the Move

How do you keep your nylons perfect while travelling?

Our vintage sisters had a few tricks up their sleeves and used home-made stocking wallets to keep their nylons safe. Designed to hold a few pairs of seamed stockings they ensure that your nylons don't get damaged in your suitcase.

Katie shows you some of her vintage collection as well as our repro version.

If you're new to retro style hosiery, or hosiery of any kind, then the terminology can be confusing - but help is at hand!

Check out our guide to hosiery and all will be revealed.

Vintage Stocking Wallets

Marianne Cheesecake looks adorable in vintage eau de nil. The vintage stocking wallet was sourced at Brooklands Vintage Festival (coming up on 18th May at Brooklands Museum in Surrey) along with the vintage eau de nil camiknicker.

This little stocking wallet is only designed to hold one or two pairs of nylons making it perfect for a weekend away. If you want to travel light then it's totally possible to rinse out your nylons overnight and hang them up to dry in the bathroom to wear the next day.

Talking of which, you could also purchase a mini travelling clothes line just for your nylons.

I found this one at last year's Twinwood Festival (we'll be trading there again this year if you're going please come and say hi).

If you can't find your own vintage stocking wallet help is at hand as we've made our own reproduction version inspired by a 1940s piece found at the War and Peace Show many, many years ago, so where ever you're going this Summer you can keep your nylons safe!
