Where to Find the Best Fishnets

Why we no longer sell Seamed Fishnets at What Katie Did

Don't worry, there's nothing sinister about this story! If you watch the video above you'll find out all the details, but the short answer is, we ran out of indie fishnet factories in the UK who were able to manufacture in small quantities, with a nice, sewn seam.

We did look at moving production to Italy but the minimums required were a lot higher, and although the quality was great, they just did not have the vintage look and feel we were after. This, combined with the high minimum order quantity and higher cost price, meant we weren't able to take the risk.

If you are looking for great fishnets Katie advises you to avoid all fashion fishnets which often have a smaller weave than 1950s fishnets. Instead go for professional dance fishnets which are extremely durable and come in a wide variety of skintones. Katie's favourites are by 'Capezio'.

While the are more expensive than fashion fishnets they really do last: Katie's are still going after five years. They also feature an opaque section under foot which is more comfortable than a fishnet sole. There's a reason that Madonna and Beyonce are rarely seen out of them on stage: they're just so flattering!
