Fiona JadeBrings Retro Glamour
to Blenheim's VJ Day
On
14th August 1945 WWII was finally over and over the weekend of
the 15th August this year we celebrated the 60th anniversary of VJ
day.
The biggest get together
was held at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. Second World War
veterans will be gathered for a highly symbolic and nostalgic
re-union at Europe’s largest 60th anniversary VJ Day commemoration.
The celebration wouldn't have been
complete without the odd pin up girl and Fiona Jade, joined by
Kitten Von Mew dressed
to the nines. Boys forgot the Spitfires overhead for a second as a
pair of real life vintage pin up girls sauntered past.

Performer and 40s glamour pin-up Fiona Jade helped entertain the
veterans in a truly authentic fashion!

Keeping up the
troop’s moral, Fiona performed a traditional classy wartime
strip-tease based on the legendary Gypsy Rose Lee.
Then with the true
authentic style, paraded around for photos with the re-enactors,
bringing back the atmosphere of the wartime pin-up in the ”Victory
Costume” which she had designed herself especially for this
celebration.
“ I must have had
literally hundreds of photos taken of myself that afternoon! The
public and Veterans really enjoyed the animated pin-up presence I
created with my colourful costumes!” Remarked Fiona...
"The festival wanted
to put a lot of focus on the pin-up glamour of the 40s, and how it
did play an important part in the lives of those affected by the
misery of the War. I really enjoy performing for the veterans too,
it reminds them of their youth. They did a lot for us, so they
deserve some pin-up glamour!”
