Thursday 8th September saw the official launch of our Hollywood store. I still can't quite believe it's happened! Even 5 years ago it would have been inconceivable for a company our size to even contemplate opening a store the other side of the world... but I guess it goes to show where there's a will there's a way.

Our Hollywood bra in eau de nil was briefly shown as The Hour got steamy last Tuesday, not as steamy as Mad Men, but the BBC in the '50s was a little different to Madison Avenue it appears! The Hollywood bra is in our Summer Sale, so if you want to get the look, be quick!

We were amazed to see Claudia Schiffer in our Maitresse Bullet Bra in Russian Vogue last year, and thought it couldn't be topped. But, here she is in our even pointier Padded Bullet Bra in August's Vogue Germany. The fetish look is going to be huge for AW11: we can't wait!

About a year ago we started supplying lingerie for a new BBC project. Over the following months rumours of a 'British Mad Men' abounded. It was called 'The Hour' and was going to be screened Spring 2011, then June 2011. Finally it hit BBC2 last week (9pm on Tuesdays if you missed it). I have to admit I had a major lack of concentration that night and totally missed our split-second of fame. Luckily Helen (Pinup Parade) did notice our Retro Seamed Stockings and hint of Maitresse Suspender Belt. Let's see if more sightings follow...

WKD model Mam'zelle Maz can be found wearing our Maitresse Bullet Bra, alongside a few other accessories in a limited edition print by A is for Arsenic. The print is part of their Crime and Punishment collection which is 'inspired by vintage fetish magazines, the drama of the silent screen and a dash of murder'. Sounds good to us, and looking at the amount of people who requested a copy of Skin Two's fetish magazine Latextra recently I'm sure you'll like it too!

We haven't been featured in i-D magazine for ages, so it's great to see our Harlow Bullet Bra in this month's issue. Thanks i-D!

You know that old chestnut that Marilyn Monroe wore a size 16 dress? I'd always presumed it was complete rubbish, especially after I saw one of her dresses at the Max Factor Museum in Hollywood (if you ever get the chance please go!) However, when I was in our factory last week I was looking through old patterns and found one which was a Vogue American slip pattern dated 1957, in a dress size 16. Bust 34", waist 26", hips 26" - a modern US size 6. Which really goes to show how sizes have changed! It reminded me of Gemma (aka Retro Chick) who's fed up with unclear clothing sizing and has set up a campaign for clearer sizing. If you've got any views on the subject I'm sure she'd love to hear from you.

When Tony Nylons, our photographer, saw Lada Redstar peform at the London Burlesque Festival last year he decided she's be perfect for us. Last Summer she spent a day  in our studio shooting our Raw Silk Corsets and Swiss Dot Lingerie. As with a lot of burlesque artistes, there's more to her than meets the eye. She not only models and peforms, but also sings! She's featured on Burlesque Swing which is released on Monday 13th June. You can see a little preview here. Oh, and she's wearing our Lulu Lingerie on the cover too!
