Press and Workshops
It's be another busy week at What Katie Did. In the press the lovely Annette Bette was kind enough to recommend our corsets in Fabulous magazine whilst one of our stockists, La Magia, managed to get our Raw Silk Morticia corset in OK magazine. I can assure you that our press department has also been hard at work and not just relaxing and sipping champagne!
Boutique Workshops:
We've got a few new workshops lined up in our boutique -
Retro Hair and Make Up Workshop - 'Mad Men Style' Sunday 31st May
Issidora from Nina's Vintage Hair Parlour has, like the rest of us, fallen in love with the 'Mad Men' style. She'll be running a 3 hour workshop inspired by Mad Men Series 1 (that's late 1950s) showing how to attain the hair and make up looks of that era. The workshop runs for 3 hours, costs 40 pounds, and is interactive. It's held at our Portobello Road boutique and tea and cakes will be served. For booking and more information please contact Issidora on 07958 798 534 or email info@issidora.com
Pastie and Fascinator Workshops:
Spend a relaxed Sunday afternoon in our Portobello Road boutique learning how to make pasties or fascinators. The workshops are run by Ruka who also runs burlesque accessory company Sugarlesque. Tea and cakes will be served. Numbers are strictly limited - ladies, gentlemen and groups welcome. Please contact Ruka for booking information or contact our boutique on 0845 430
8943.
Pastie Workshop - Sunday 7th June. 1pm to 4pm. 30 pounds including all materials. Learn to make a pair of nipple pasties to take home and keep. Choose from a wide range of fabrics, trimmings, beads and ribbons - you'll have access to What Katie Did fabrics should you wish to make a pair to match a corset.
Fascinator Workshop - Sunday 5th July. 1pm to 4pm. 45 pounds including all materials. Choose from a mini top hat or sinnamay hat base and learn how to create a piece of glamorous and individual headwear to take home with you. You'll be able to choose from a wide range of trimmings, crystals, ribbons and feathers.
Fascinator Workshop
Ruby Rouge has set a date for a new fascinator workshop. It takes place on Sunday 21st September at our Portobello Road boutique. You'll not only learn how to make a fabulous fascinator (it's quite easy once Ruby lets you in on her secrets!) but be able to relax with tea and cakes, and make new friends.

Sadly, Ruby is no longer making fascinators for shops including ours, so the only way you'll get your mitts on one is to make one yourself. Don't feel too sad for Ruby though as she has some very exciting plans laid out for her future.
