Besame Cosmetics in The Artist
The French movie The Artist is released nationwide in the UK on 5th January (it's already out on limited release in the USA). It's a silent black and white movie set in the lat 1920s which follows the move from silent movie to the talkies. The first I heard about the film was when I saw a trailer when I went to see 'My Week With Marilyn'. Not only is it a captivating idea, but it has links with What Katie Did as Besame Cosmetics are featured in the film! The Artist is rumoured to be on the Oscar shortlist (as is My Week With Marilyn). Will Besame Cosmetics or What Katie Did lingerie be Oscar winners next year?!
What Katie Did and Adam Ant
We had an exciting call a couple of months ago from Georgina Baillie who was about to go on tour with Adam Ant! We're all huge fans of Adam Ant here and although we tried to play it cool you know how it is... Mam'zelle Maz saw him play in London and said it was great. If you missed him all is not lost as Adam's tour continues in 2012 with dates including our hometown of Reading on 24th January (keep your eyes peeled for us), and our other hometown of LA on 2nd February. Find out all you need to know here. Georgina wears our Lulu lingerie (apparently she has a few WKD costume changes). Thanks to Mart's Arts for the images.

Burlexe is back in town!
Burlexe is back at the Shadow Lounge in London's Soho, for their last date of 2011 on Wednesday 30th November! If you managed to catch Burlexe earlier this year you'll know that we provided corsets, bullet bras and stockings, while they provided the sass, the tease and a pioneering show that’s part Vagina Monologues, part burlesque show about amazing, powerful women. The show features an ensemble cast of r’n’b star Kele Le Roc (photographed by Tigz Rice in our Glamour Corselette below), burlesquers-turned-actresses Kiki Kaboom and Fancy Chance together with burlesque from Luna Rosa, Sabrina Sweepstakes, Rubyyy Jones and Miss Glory Pearl.
The initial run sold out and garnered rave reviews across the internet, so we’ve
managed to reserve some tickets to ensure you don't miss out. Purchase your Burlexe tickets here.

Burlesque Showgirl 2012
All showgirls have to start somewhere and Miss Polly Rae was trained by Jo King. Jo King has just launched 'Burlesque showgirl 2012 UK' and will be hosting auditions until the end of 2011. The competition is open to girls based in the UK who are 'amateur'. Amateur means that their main source of income is not from burlesque. I'm not allowed to divulge too many details yet: but take my word, it sound like a good one!

Miss Polly Rae Burlesque Workshop
We're so excited to have Miss Polly Rae host an exclusive burlesque workshop for What Katie Did. What Katie Did London AW11 collection launch
You can picture the scene...Hendrick's cocktails shaken but not stirred, Vintage Patisserie cupcakes delightfully displayed and a boudoir filled with a bevy of beauties. It could have only been our AW11 Fashion Show & Launch Party in our flagship London Boutique! Liberty Sweet was our adorable host for the day, making sure that no-one went without a tasty refreshment while browsing our latest collection of goodies.
The Boutique girls were dressed in their finest, along with the crowds of adoring customers, all eagerly awaiting the start of the Fashion Show.
Burlesque starlet and What Katie Did Press Assistant Slinky Sparkles, lived up to her name with her eye wateringly glittery shoes: tutoring, advising and directing her posse of primed and preened models, all dressed in their WKD outfits, making it the highlight of the day. Ava Iscariot, Betsy Rose, Hotcake Kitty, Miss Cherry on Fire, Miss Miranda and Stephanie Jay strutted their stuff through the Boutique to the tunes of the “Take Your Shirt Off” band while looking smoking hot in our new AW11 collections! We were also elated to be joined by the one and only Miss Polly Rae, who took a break from her busy schedule just to come and see the show! Cameras flashed and smiles were a-plenty...roll on SS12 so we can do it all again!
Thank you to Steve Osborn for letting us use his great pictures.

If you've been following out weekly flash sales the film below will give you a big clue as to what's featured this Wednesday (sign up to our mailing list or 'like' us on Facebook to ensure you don't miss any more flash sales!) Miss Miranda performed in the window of our London boutique as part of London Burlesque Week. Her boyfriend Anthony Ratcliffe happens to be a film maker and was on hand to record the proceedings (and act as her bodyguard if required: she was rather scantily clad for Portobello Road on a Saturday afternoon!)
