Burlesque Showgirl 2012
All showgirls have to start somewhere and Miss Polly Rae was trained by Jo King. Jo King has just launched 'Burlesque showgirl 2012 UK' and will be hosting auditions until the end of 2011. The competition is open to girls based in the UK who are 'amateur'. Amateur means that their main source of income is not from burlesque. I'm not allowed to divulge too many details yet: but take my word, it sound like a good one!
Miss Polly Rae Burlesque Workshop
Miss Polly Rae is hosting a burlesque workshop with us next month. I defy anyone to watch the video below and not immediately want to sign up! It looks like so much fun. Full details can be found on Polly's website.
What Katie Did AW11 Launch Party
We launched our AW11 collection in our London Boutique on 4th September.
Anthony Ratcliffe filmed if for us so it you missed it all is not lost!
What Katie Did at The Goodwood Revival
Last week we took WKD on the road to set up our shop at The Goodwood Revival. Can you believe we've been there for five years now? The little film below shows that it's not all about motor cars - we're
about half way through.
Kelly Brook in What Katie Did
October's Cosmopolitan (UK) features Kelly Brook. It's the second time we've seen Kelly in WKD this year: this time she wears our Glamour Bra (top pic) and Glamour Panty Girdle (bottom pic).

Amy Nuttall in What Katie Did
It looks like our CC09 Bra is the bra for September 2011! Last week it was worn by Lara Stone in V magazine, this week Downton Abbey's Amy Nuttal wears it in Look magazine.

What Katie Did Hollywood Launch
Thursday 8th September saw the official launch of our Hollywood store. I still can't quite believe it's happened! Even 5 years ago it would have been inconceivable for a company our size to even contemplate opening a store the other side of the world... but I guess it goes to show where there's a will there's a way.

Our Hollywood store. Located at 7970.5 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood, 90046

Model Smexcksy Ziza (you might remember her from our Las Vegas show at Easter)

Miss Polly Rae Burlesque Workshop
We're so excited to have Miss Polly Rae host an exclusive burlesque workshop for What Katie Did. Whilst there are lots of burlesque classes out there, there are non taught by someone who has such extensive experience, from running a weekly show at Soho's Raymonds Review Bar to her own show in London's West End (check out a couple of reviews here: The Daily Mail, The Telegraph).
Provocateur open a new store they think nothing of flying Miss Polly Rae half way around the world to perform at the launch. So, basically, we can say that she's rather good at what she does!
Miss Polly Rae will teach you how to be a ‘Hurly Burly Girly’ (as her troupe is called) or What Katie Did ‘Pin- up Princess’ not only with your burlesque moves but with your attitude, look and style. In this 4 hour bump and grinding, shimmy haking workshop you will learn all the basic techniques of modern and classical burlesque including movement, dance, character/persona, striptease, hair /make-up and costuming. All attendees will also receive a What Katie Did goodie bag.

Where: Dance Attic Studios, Fulham, London
Price: £75

What Katie Did London AW11 collection launch
You can picture the scene...Hendrick's cocktails shaken but not stirred, Vintage Patisserie cupcakes delightfully displayed and a boudoir filled with a bevy of beauties. It could have only been our AW11 Fashion Show & Launch Party in our flagship London Boutique! Liberty Sweet was our adorable host for the day, making sure that no-one went without a tasty refreshment while browsing our latest collection of goodies.
The Boutique girls were dressed in their finest, along with the crowds of adoring customers, all eagerly awaiting the start of the Fashion Show.
Burlesque starlet and What Katie Did Press Assistant Slinky Sparkles, lived up to her name with her eye wateringly glittery shoes: tutoring, advising and directing her posse of primed and preened models, all dressed in their WKD outfits, making it the highlight of the day. Ava Iscariot, Betsy Rose, Hotcake Kitty, Miss Cherry on Fire, Miss Miranda and Stephanie Jay strutted their stuff through the Boutique to the tunes of the “Take Your Shirt Off” band while looking smoking hot in our new AW11 collections! We were also elated to be joined by the one and only Miss Polly Rae, who took a break from her busy schedule just to come and see the show! Cameras flashed and smiles were a-plenty...roll on SS12 so we can do it all again!
Thank you to Steve Osborn for letting us use his great pictures.

Lara Stone in What Katie Did
We've been eagerly anticipating the new issue of V magazine and it was worth the wait! Our CC09 Bra and
Harlow Deep Suspender Belt is modelled by non other than Lara Stone! I think this must be one of my favourite press pictures ever!
