Jessie J in What Katie Did
Rollacoaster magazine (brought to us by the same team that produce Wonderland) is rather exclusive: only available at Selfridges and London Fashion Week. There will be an IPad version soon though so everyone will be able to have access to it. Their second edition's cover star is the Jessie J who, in the UK, is looking at being the girl you can't get away from in 2011 - but as her music is great that's no hardship! You can tell she's hit the big time as she's been pictured in our Padded Bullet Bra, joining other celebs including Mossy, Rihanna, Gwyneth, Posh et al.

Burlesque in the Mail on Sunday
The Mail on Sunday's You magazine did a really cute feature on Miss Polly Rae and her Hurly Burly Girlys last Sunday (you might recognise the corset far left!) It has to be said the the mainstream press are not usually the most supportive of burlesque so it's really refreshing to see
such a nice article (but then again, Miss Polly Rae is so talented they really couldn't say anything else. Her new show opens on 3rd March at London's Garrick theatre. Tickets can be booked here.

What Katie Did dress the Barbarellas
Do you remember the pop band Bewitched? Well they're back with a new name (Barbarellas) and a daring new look. They were on Louis Spence's Showbiz programme last week which showed the filming of their new video. Here they are in our Glamour Merry Widow and Glamour Corselette. Good luck girls!

Us WKD girlies shared the love and towed our lucky boyfriends along to the Dr. Sketchy’s Valentine’s Special last week. Not content with treating our boyfriends to just us in our sexy WKD undies
we also teased them with the scantily clad Sketchy Models, who included our very own Slinky Sparkles! As us girls do not like to be left out (Especially as it was Valentine’s Day!) we were delighted with the eye candy on offer for ourselves in the form of a rather dishy male model.

Slinky Sparkles
Now that Valentine’s Day has passed us by for another year, what better way to lift those spirits than to treat ourselves to something special & sparkly!?...Exclusive to us here in the London Boutique are some dazzling, eye-catching jewellery sets that will simply take your breath away. Handmade in London and finished to an impeccable high standard, they will have admirers blinking in disbelief at the beauties adorning your décolletage! Our designers can match crystals to costumes so if any of you burlesque ladies need some added glimmer to your outfits, don’t hesitate to visit us & peruse our precious jewels! Clare Marie looks simply
delightful in one of the ranges!

Bernie Dexter at Magic
We've had lots of great feedback about our interview with Bernie Dexter a couple of weeks ago. In it she tells us about Bernie Dexter clothing, her own range of 1950s rockabilly inspired dresses. She's just got back from Magic trade show in Las Vegas and I couldn't resist finding out how it went.ss="MsoNormal">Magic Fashion Trade show was so much fun once you get there! heheee It was a long haul on my own. Pushing 2 HUGE Samsonite cases to have one handle break! It tells me i am stronger then a gorilla! hehee It was great to see the vendors I met last summer and some really cute new ones too! Much like high school it never goes without a bit of drama from at least one vendor but over all it was quite civil this time.
I was on a wonderful retro packed row. Classic Hardware even gave me some fabulous retrolite jewels to wear with my collection. I got to debut my first professional sign made. " Bernie Dexter Clothing Celebrating the Female Form" It is a gold glittery sign custom made for my by Brown Magic Paint Co. by El Chucky It got a lot of people to stop and take a look! Brown Magic Paint Co. by El Chucky also painted the Suitcase I used on the front cover of my look book.
And it was so nice to have customers come to my booth and say " Wow your stuff looks so authentic!" And " wow your prints are so beautiful" I think customers are enjoying a fresh new point of view on reproduction. This is just what i was hoping for so I am so pleased!!
I think the neatest thing is having customers from all over the world! One girl came all the way from Israel!!! Yes there are pin ups and Rockabilly girls in Israel! How coooool is that!
Here are a few pix of my booth and my customers!

What Katie Did FYEO portrait competition
Last week we headed up to FYEO Portrait's head office in High Wycombe to take a look at their studio. Whilst the studio is very impressive it's the pictures they take that really blow you away!
You might have heard about FYEO, last Thursday they had a 3 page feature in the Daily Mail and on Tuesday were featured on The One Show, in addition you can meet the team at the National Wedding Show in Olympia, London this weekend (don't forget to enter their draw to win a photoshoot and WKD corset). FYEO specialise in full body makeover portraits and have five studios all around England with an exclusively female team, they're working together with WKD to launch a Vintage Pin Up package - think dramatic '50s silver screen studio lighting.
We're looking for 3 would be pin ups to show the results of the Vintage Pin Up package with their pictures used on the FYEO website and on the Vintage Pin Up packaging. In return you'll receive an album full of pictures, styling by Katie and a £200 gift voucher to spend at What Katie Did. The shoots will take place at FYEO's head office in High Wycombe so you will need to be able to get there.
To enter the competition simply post your picture on our facebook wall, and remember to put FYEO so we know you want to enter!

Bernie Dexter in What Katie Did
Our new SS11 collection will be launched on 1st March. The main lingerie line, Vicky, was modelled by Bernie Dexter who must be one of the most famous retro pin ups on the planet at the moment! We were lucky enough to shoot at boutique hotel 40 Winks in London and afterwards we sat down with London pin up and vintage girl about town Fleur de Guerre who interrogated Bernie (in the nicest way) to find out how she developed her pin up career and what she has in store for us next. The full interview can be found here.
