This elegant cincher features a strong, powermesh shaping band around the waist, which was inspired by a Victorian corset. The resulting design produces an amazing wasp-waist, but without sacrificing any of the comfort we enjoy in modern times!
The satin front won't show through your dress, and the long line ensures a sleek silhouette, with no gap between bra and cincher. The garters are not detachable. We've found in all the cinchers we've tested that there is a tendancy for them to roll up a little if used without garters. Should you wish to wear your cincher under pantyhose or trousers (which will stop the cincher rolling up) then simply tuck the garters under the cincher.
No vintage girl should be without one!
What Katie Did uses traditional sizing which is smaller than modern size charts. This is of particular importance when selecting Glamour waist cincher as the waist band is already cut to have a cinching effect. Having said that, feedback from our boutique shows that some girls are buying a size too small - how comfortable it will be after a few hours is questionable, but if you're more interested in the look opposed to comfort.... Our sizes are cut to fit:
US 4 - 23" waist, 33" hip
US 6 - 25" waist, 35" hip
US 8 - 27" waist, 37" hip
US 10 - 29" waist, 39" hip
US 12 - 31" waist, 41" hip
US 14 - 33" waist, 43" hip
I bought this in a size 10 as recommended on the website, a size up from usual. However I didn't realise until wearing it for a day that I could've actually gone down a size to my usual size! It's actually quite roomy. So disappointed because now that I have worn it, I can't return it- so a waste of money for me. It's a shame because I really love it.
Sorry to hear the cincher is too big for you all sizing is given as a guide and we recommend measuring yourself and checking sizes against our size chart. If you ever have any sizing queries we are happy to answer any questions if you just send an email over to email@example.com

As I told my spouse - I thought I new what shapewear was before buying the Glamour Waist Cincher and trying it on, now I REALLY know what shapewear is!
As a slightly pear-shaped hourglass I found the cincher very comfortable and effective, nipping in at the waist but not being uncomfortably restrictive around my ribs or hips. This wouldn't be my choice for under wiggle dresses, as the cincher does finish mid-bum, but for dresses that flare out a bit, this really enhances your waistline and helps smooth out the tum.
I bought this online, going by the sizing chart alone as I was lucky enough to not fall between sizes, and the fit was spot on!

I visited the Portobello Store yesterday. I was looked after by the lovely Sadie, who couldn't have been kinder. Having never tried this kind of underwear before, it was an adventure, but great fun. Another satisfied customer. Thank you so much.

Another fabulous piece but was too high in the back because I was looking for something to go under my wedding dress as well as sucking in the gut - bought a underbust corset instead.

The Glamour Waist Cincher is a beautiful vintage reproduction piece, which works well under modern and contemporary clothing. It is comfortable, and if you choose the right size (usually one size up from your normal high-street size), comfortable enough to wear on an every-day basis without a breaking-in period.
The 6 suspender straps keep seamed stockings nicely in place, and if it is worn under a skirt or a dress, must be worn with suspenders otherwise it will ride up as included in the WKD details section. The ‘powermesh shaping band’ does what it says on the tin, it creates a really gorgeous hourglass shape with specific attention to pulling in your waist and smoothing over your tummy. However if you tend to carry weight around your ribs and upper-waist, then this particular item does not work as well at slimming this area. The powermesh shaping band tends to nip in your waist beautifully, but also tends to emphasis the wobbly bit above it, so this item is great for pear shapes, but not so good for apple types. Wearing the Glamour Waspie over the top counteracts this affect, however if you wanted to buy only one item (the waspie is great on its own, and both the waspie and cincher are well worth their money) then I would recommend the Glamour Zip Underbust Girdle which gives firmer control to both areas.
I’d definitely recommend this item, out of all the girdles and cinchers it works the hardest at pulling in your waist, but I’d love to see an updated version with a reinforced upper section to counteract any bulges beneath the bra strap/above the shaping band.

First waist clincher I've bought, and first item from WKD also. I really love this product, defiantly flattens the tummy and nips in the waist. The only cons would be firstly the comfort, it needs to be broken in to make it more comfortable; secondly probably not best to wear under tight clothing as the rims can be lightly seen. But over all a great buy and would totally recommend!

I've been wearing it almost every day for the last two years. It gives smooth line under clothes, helps to emphasize the waist and is super-comfortable!

If you need something to help flatten your tummy, this is it!

This was the first WKD item I ever bought and started my love affair! Does a great job nipping in the waist and just smoothing you out
