This shorter length waspie corset is ideal if you like to wear a corset all year around. Made from a singler layer of sheer fabric it will give you a smoother line under clothing than traditional corsets, something especially important in the Summer when we tend to wear lighter weight clothing.
Sheer corsets will never last quite as long as their traditional 3 layer sisters so we do not advise a sheer corset as your only corset. It should be part of your collection of corsets to be dusted off and brought out as the mercury rises. Certainly, we're talking more than a holiday romance here: I've been wearing my single layer sheer daily for several months and it's still holding up strong!
Shown here in sheer peach with pastel jade satin, you can make up your own unique colour combination on our 'Design Your Own Corset' page. Please note that it's only possible to make single layer sheer corsets in our styles that do not feature hip gores.
These corsets are designed to work hard and reduce your waist by up to 4 inches (10cm). Please deduct 3 to 4 inches (8-10cm) from your normal waist measurement to work out your corset size: for instance, both a natural waist of 29 inches (74cm) and a natural waist size of 30 inches (76cm) should give a corset size of 26 inches (66cm).
The Riding Corset is most suited to vintage figures with a waist measurements of 10 inches (25cm) (or more) smaller than the hip measurement.
* length along front busk 10.25" (26cm)
* underbust to hip (side) 6.5" (16.5cm)
* side length from underarm to waist 3.5" (9cm)
* side length from waist to bottom 2.75" (7cm)
Measurements when completely closed:
Riding 18"/46cm, ribcage- 22"/61cm
Riding 20"/51cm, ribcage- 24"/63.5cm
Riding 22"/56cm, ribcage- 26"/66cm
Riding 24"/61cm, ribcage- 28"/69cm
Riding 26"/66cm, ribcage- 30"/71cm
Riding 28"/71cm, ribcage- 32"/76cm
Riding 30"/76cm, ribcage- 34"/81cm
Riding 32"/81cm, ribcage- 36"/86cm
The ribcage measurement on a Riding Corset is taken 2.75" (7cm) up from the waist.
A Note On Hip Measurements: Due to the cut of the hips on this corset it is difficult to determine the fit. I was hoping that the hips would be 'free' and therefore fit all, however you do need a suitable hip-to-waist differentiation to fill the corset, so a waist to hip difference of at least 8" (20cm) is required, and 10" (25cm) preferred. Bigger hips are not a problem as the corset finishes high at the sides and you body continues the curve, which results in an amazingly smooth line.
