Our Glamour Waist Cincher has been revamped and while the new version looks like a seductive piece of lingerie is packs a serious punch, noticeably cinching your waist. Made from stretchy powermesh to gently shape the torso, with an additional powermesh shaping band and elastic waist tape to cinch your waist into an hourglass shape.
Just like all of our shapewear, our Glamour Waist Cincher incorporates spiral steel boning, but this new version uses a heavier weight of boning. This stronger boning ensures no wrinkling, and allows the cincher to be worn with or without suspenders. The cincher has a hook and eye fastening at the front, making it easy to put on.
If you're a fan of 1950s fashion, this is little waist cincher will become an indispensable addition to your lingerie arsenal.
What Katie Did uses boutique brand sizing. Order according to your natural waist.
Dress Size 8 - 23"/58cm waist, 33"/85cm hip
Dress Size 10 - 25"/62.5cm waist, 35"/87.5cm hip
Dress Size 12 - 27"/67.5cm waist, 37"/92.5cm hip
Dress Size 14 - 29"/72.5cm waist, 39"/97.5cm hip
Dress Size 16 - 31"/77.5cm waist, 41"/102.5cm hip
Dress Size 18 - 33"/84cm waist, 43"/107.5cm hip
It fits perfectly (my measurements are bust=87.5 cm, waist=72.5 cm, hip=97.5 cm and I got a size EU 42). It goes great with fit and flare dresses because of the waist band I guess. It's really very comfy - I'm wearing it almost every day and I usually forget it's there!

Bought my second one I now have one black one peach. I get the curve I want and can wear all day without problems, it is great to have suspenders when I need them. I took the advice to go a size down, it works.

Bought to give me that extra bit of curve and was not disappointed have had no problems with boning at the moment and wear it nearly every day very pleased with it

I have purchased two of these, one October last year and one in November in a different colour and was very pleased with the products. However, as others have commented, the steel bones have pushed their way out the garment at the bottom. Both faults developed with in four to five months of use.
We are very sorry to hear this! Please be assured this is highly unusual, and we will be contacting you directly to rectify this.
Apologies, WKD x

This was my second purchase from What Katie Did, and I must say that both times I have been extremely pleased and impressed. I'm relatively new to shape wear, and found that all my previous enquiries were answered quickly and thoroughly. This waist cincher is comfortable, easy to put on, a great length and attractive to look at! The suspended straps are easy to put on and take off, and the whole thing is beautifully well made. Thank you so much What Katie Did! Xx

As one reviewer mentioned, the boning channels are flimsy. They also end before the bottom elastic in the front and sides (which is odd because they go all the way to the bottom edge in the back), causing the boning to poke out from my hips. I think it would show under clothing and would definitely cause the channels to wear through eventually. The power mesh is also quite flimsy, I would consider it light shapewear more for looks than to cinch you in. Had to return.
Hello Darling Tonia,
We're sorry to hear your cincher featured uneven boning - this is a manufacturing error, and this issue has been passed on to our factory to be rectified. The powermesh used for our lingerie is an excellent quality, medium-to-heavy weight fabric that is not often used by our competitors. For greater waist shaping I would highly recommend one of our corsets.

I am really happy about this new waist cincher. I had the old one and used it for years before I wore it out, and had to get a new one. This one is so much more comfortable! I also love that it has detachable garters. In addition to being comfortable and doing the job under tight-waisted dresses, it also looks really good on its own. Also, I have to applaude WKD customer service. My first purchase was lost in the mail, and when I got a hold of it, two months after it was purchased, I realised I had ordered the wrong size. However, WKD generously sent me a replacement even though it was well over 30 days since the purchase. Thanks so much!

I recently purchased one black and one peach New Glamour Waist Cincher, and it has a couple pros and cons. I have owned the previous WKD Glamour Waist Cincher for over a year now, and will be comparing the two.
- New cincher has much sturdier boning, doesn't bunch up in the back like the previous version does.
- Removable garter straps means you can wear this much more often/under more clothes, and the garter straps are very durable and well-made.
This new design is very similar in appearance to the gorgeous original waist cincher, but it shapes much better/more efficiently.
- I feel like this new cincher is much more comfortable than the old one, and the old one wasn't particularly uncomfortable. This new one feels like a warm hug!
- I ordered the same size I had for the old version, but this feels bigger somehow. The old version is tighter so I'm afraid I should've gone down a size, despite the description saying it runs small.
- Instead of three rows of "eyes" for the hook and eye closure, there is only one. If this garment stretches at all, like bras do, you won't be able to extend the life of it by using the tighter rows of eyes.
All in all, I am very satisfied with this garment, as usual from WKD! If I lose any amount of weight (God willing), however, I may regret not exchanging this for the smaller size.

This is a follow up, update. After 4.5 months of wear, the satin panel in the front seems to be splitting at the seams. It's sad to say so, as I would have thought an undergarment at this price would have held up longer. I only wear it for special occasions, and treat it very gingerly. The rest of the garment seems fine but the satin panel is beginning to fall off.
Please accept our apologies this certainly should not have happened after this amount of time, and does sound like a manufacturing fault. We have sent you a private message to follow up on this.

After a really long time considering getting the waist cincher, I finally got it during the black friday sale. I was a bit unsure about the sizing as my waist is 32" and my hip 41". I didn't want it to be too tight as I want to wear it daily or too loose as I want a smaller waist, but after asking customer service I ordered it in a size 16. The fit is just as i wanted it. I got just the figure that I desired and works perfect under the dress I am wearing for christmas. It is really comfortable and I barely notice it sitting or standing !
Thank you for a great product!

Just got mine today. Straight away I thought i'd have to send it back and get a bigger size it was way to small but i thought i'd give it a go all the same. I'm a size 6 au, I got the 23'' when my waist is about 25" or would be if my posture wasn't so crappy. Though the hook and eye's do strain a wee bit in the waist (i think they're suppose to a bit) it fits really very well. It hugs you tight whilst still letting you breath unaffected and even supports you back. Seriously normally i have to consciously work to stand staight and hold my tummy in for good posture but this does it for you whilst giving you a lovely little waist. It's better then a new dress and that spring in your step you get when you first put in on.

I had been going back and forth over whether to buy this or not, and then decided to give it a go. I wasn't disappointed with it, but not hugely impressed either, and ended up returning it. The single layer of power mesh, I don't think, is powerful enough to smooth you out properly, which means you get odd little bulges between the top elastic, the boning and the bottom elastic. The heavier boning is great, but the boning channels are a bit flimsy, and even just trying it on I was a bit concerned that they were going to rip through. The front panel comes under a lot of pressure, and I could see the stitching having a bit of give already with just trying on, and I note a previous reviewer has mentioned that the stitching has already failed after only a few wears. I think perhaps these issues might not be so problematic if you size up, but then, there wouldn't be much of a cinch to the waist, which is the point. The piece itself was beautiful, but just not quite hitting the mark for me. I think this might be one of those marmite items, you either love it or hate it.
hyper_22, 22 Nov 2015
I bought this from the boutique in London- it nips in the waist perfectly, and I'm not left with any bulges where it ends at the top or bottom!
However, I have only worn it a handful of times, and one of the seams at the front has come undone and the material is slowly coming apart. It would have been nice if it could have lasted longer as it was a lot of money for me to pay!
Please accept our apologies this should not of happened after this amount of time and is very unusual. We have sent you an email regarding this so we may resolve matter with you.

I bought a waist cincher to go under my 'housemaid' costume while performing at Burgh Island Hotel's Grand End of Summer Ball. I loved the look of it so much that the following week I ended up wearing it outside my costume as a kind of 'super-belt' over high waisted trousers and a chiffon blouse. The fit is perfect, and extremely comfortable, while at the same time taking at least an inch off my waist. Unlike a corset, I was able to forget I was wearing it... at least while standing up. It does dig into the bottom of the bosom a little if worn while sitting down in a car seat or armchair, but since this item is essentially for showing off in, not relaxing in, I consider that too slight an issue to hold against it. Highly recommended both as an unseen support garment and as a saucy bit of outer wear for a more outré night out. Tricity Vogue

I am disappointed. First, the bonings in the front are positioned in such a way that their bottom edges dig into my flesh when I sit. Second, The thick front panel accentuates the protrusion of my lower tummy when the cincher is fastened. I returned the cincher immediately.
We are sorry you were disappointed with this item, it sounds like with the boning digging in it was to long in the body for you. You may want to try the Glamour Zip Underbust Girdle as an alternative.

I wear garter belts and stockings when I go out with my BF (many from WKD) and it it's exciting for both of us. Like many women, I worry a bit about my shape so I wanted to give waist cinchers a try...maybe it would smooth out my figure, and nip my waist a bit for a nice hourglass shape. This item seemed to be something that would work. And boy, did it ever! WKD has done it again. I wore it out the day it arrived and it was comfortable all night long. My figure is 44-31-41 and I got a size US 12 and it fit great. I could've gone down a size but I'm afraid it would've been to squeezy inny. The US 12 gave me a nice waist definition without being constrictive. I highly recommend this lovely waist cincher. One small issue is the number of garters to hold up the stockings. This one has 3 on each leg which is fine but I would prefer an option for 4-6 on each leg...extra "tug" to keep my stockings smooth and taut... and ultra sexy. Love it! Grab this great piece of lingerie, you'll love it too.

I have a lot of good things to say about this garment! It not only looks beautiful on but it's actually a pretty powerful piece of shapewear and creates a beautiful nipped in waist
However, I do have to note that after four months one of the steel bones has escaped from its chanel. It's a little disappointing but all in all I'd still recommend a purchase if youre sitting on the fence
Oh and it really is super comfortable too, I can wear mine all day at work and into the evening and not be bothered by it at all!
Hello! We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing problems with this - do get in touch with us and we can rectify the situation for you! WKD x

This waist cincher is so glamourous and comfortable! This is my first waist cincher, and I'm inbetween a size US 4 and a US 6 (my measurements are 33x26x36). Looking back, I probably could have ordered a size smaller, but the size US 6 is more comfortable. It feels like I'm barely wearing anything! For reference, it's much more comfortable around the tummy area than wearing pantyhose, and more comfortable than wearing a belt around your pants. It's like wearing a big stocking around your torso-- it squeezes enough to remain sleek to your body while making your body feel not squeezed at all. The panel in the front gets rid of the "bloated tummy" or "toddler tummy" look, as well as any rolls that would show up under stretchy, bodycon dresses. The sheer panels down the sides are sheer enough where I can still get cold during the summer with the AC going, and I can hardly feel that they're even there. As for the waist cinching... I honestly don't see that much of a difference. It does take off an inch or two, but it doesn't make me totally curvalicious. It gives me a waist for sure, especially when i lean on one hip or sit down, and I do notice more wiggle in my walk. I like to pair this with the bombshell bra from VS for a very naturally voluptuous look, or any of my vintage bras and the WKD padded bullet bra to really feel like a Marilyn. I would recommend this if you wanted something easy to wear everyday (it's way more comfortable than wearing a bra and doesn't take any getting used to) that flattens your belly and gives you a natural, attractive waist.

This was an exchanged product which I decided to get after I found out Kate longline bra wasn't suitable for me. After asking the lovely and very helpful staff about exchanging to different products, I opted for Glamour Waist Cincher to get that nice cinched in waist. This one fits and looks pretty, but has a couple of cons. First the boning channels are basically on top of the garment which will make them very visible under tight clothing. This makes it impossible to wear this with tight fitting dresses I thought I'd wear this with.
Secondly this is not a firm shaping product, at best medium. I got a size UK12/27" and my own waist is around 28.5", but it doesn't cinch me at all even though I'm quite squishy around the waist. The powermesh stretches too much and so does the satin panel, so I don't even get a flat tummy. It does give me a better posture, but having two other waist cinchers from other brands, I'm rather disappointed in the cinching power of this one. My other (26") cincher shaves off 5-6cm of my waist and gives me a fabulous hourglass shape, but this one is practically for show (literally, because it does show through clothes). The garment looks straight when not being worn (except that it's slightly wider by the hips), so when being worn it does cinch a little, but not from the waist like an hourglass shaped curved cincher would do.
As it does feel relatively comfortable, has detachable straps and looks pretty I'll be keeping this anyway. At least it gives me a better posture if not anything else. If you're between sizes or want firm shaping, definitely size down.

I have been wearing shapewear from What Katie did for years. I have a short body and a large hip to waist ratio, initially I found it difficult to find anything that worked.
I love this cincher!
I used to use the Caberet waspie and I loved that, all but the side fastening. When I saw this one I knew I had to give it a try.
I have it on now and it is so comfortable and gives you that 'hugging' feeling that many find with corsets.
I love the option for suspenders as sometimes a waspie and a suspender belt can be cumbersome and warm.
I am more than happy with the new glamour waist cincher, as I mentioned I am shorter in the body than most but this isn't an issue with this cincher as, for me at least, it comes just past the upper portion of my hips which is great for a clean silhouette.
